New waterways rules as of November 1st, 2025

Noteable new rule changes include:

 

Goulburn River – From Hughes Creek to the Goulburn Weir

  • A new 30 knot speed limit now applies in previous unrestricted speed areas (excludes vessels towing a person bare-foot water-skiing provided they do not exceed 35 knots):
    • exclusive and special purpose zone for waterskiing
    • 50m downstream of Kirwans Bridge to Goulburn Weir.
  • Changes to designated 20 knot and 5 knot speed restriction zones, with changes clearly signposted. Key new 5-knot areas include:
    • the river adjacent to the Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park
    • the entrance to Lake Nagambie
    • all of Goulburn Wier downstream of Verges Jetty.
  • Vessels must operate with minimal or no wash within all 5 knot speed restriction areas.
  • The following activity is now prohibited:
    • The use of wake-enhancing devices on vessels, including when the vessel is used for wake surfing or wakeboarding.


 

Lake Nagambie

  • A new speed limit of 20 knots applies to all powered vessels on Lake Nagambie (excluding the 5-knot speed restriction zones, areas prohibited to vessels and the exclusive use and special purpose area)
  • The following activities are now prohibited:
    • Freestyling on personal water craft (i.e. jetskis)
    • Bathing & swimming between Deliah Island and the Nagambie Lake Leisure Park shore
    • The use of wake-enhancing devices on vessels, including when the vessel is used for wake surfing or wakeboarding.
  • Vessels must operate with minimal or no wash within all 5 knot speed restriction areas

Membership Renewal

Due by 15th October Annually

Membership fees are $450 and we will require all of the information listed below by 15th October.


Memberships that are not renewed by this date will be offered to those on the waiting list. Please feel free to make contact with Darren Lyons (by phone 0438 364446 or via email nagambiewaterskiclub@gmail.com) if you need to discuss this further or make other arrangements.


EXISTING FULL MEMBERS $450: Documents required by email to treasurer.nagambiewsc@gmail.com

(1) Receipt of membership fee payment

(2) Copy of boat insurance

(3) NWSC membership form (Documents section, download and print off)

(4) Club Marine Condition Report (please note: this is required every 3 years and for the majority of our members this year an updated condition report will be required unless you have changed your boat or were offered a new membership with the club within the last 2 years) (Documents section, download and print off)
