This is to confirm that club site and the waterski zone has reopened for use. Please still take the time to check the river for any changes prior to skiing. There is still no "End Of Ski Zone' signage so please stay within the ski zone. There also will be more information coming out this week regarding the event day on Saturday the 7th of January.
The committee have just recieved a phone call from Goulburn Murray Water stating, due to the amount of fallen trees in the waterway they have made the decision to CLOSE the ski zone temporarily where our club is located as they have deemed it as unsafe for waterskiing. The section of river that the club uses to waterski in has been allocated as the Goulburn Murray Waters first priority to be cleared of any fallen trees and hazards. They are also going to reinstall the "End Of Ski Zone" signs during this process. We are very sorry to have to do this to our members but this decision is out of our control and safety always comes first. We will keep all NWSC Members informed when we get more information from Goulburn Murray Water as to when the river is opening back up.
A huge amount of work over the past 2 weeks has gone into preparing the club site for its reopening. The committee would like to formally announce the club site back open for business with a very minor request for the next couple of weeks. All that we are asking of members is to where possible that they do not park on any of the grass area. We have arranged for the grass to be scarified this week coming which will break up and remove most of the silt build up off the grassed area allowing the grass to grow back alot quicker. The BBQ and toielt are both fully operational again so you are more than welcome to use them as per normal. There is some trees that are down in the river so what we would suggest to all members before skiing to go for a quick drive in their boats to get familiar with where they are. Also the end of the ski zone signs have washed away in the floods so please remember to stay within the ski zone. Over the next couple of weeks the committee will continue to do all of the smaller jobs and keep the members informed. As a committee we would like to thank all of the NWSC Members for your patience and understanding over the past month until we could get the club site safe and usable again for all members.
Hi NWSC Members,
After the devastating floods in the Nagambie area which have significantly impacted the ski club site, the committee have decided for the safety of all members that we have to temporarily close the club site until further notice. The committee will hold a meeting to discuss the restoration of the site and provide members an update on site and upcoming event days over the next week. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause but the safety of our members is our first priority.ting floods in the Nagambie area which have significantly impacted the ski club site, the committee have decided for the safety of all members that we have to temporarily close the club site until further notice.
